Monaco secured a terrific 3-1 victory over Arsenal in the first leg of their Champions League last 16 clash, but Jardim will know that the Gunners are not yet finished.

He has admitted that he will lead Monaco into their home Ligue 1 match against Bastia with one eye on next week’s game.

However, the coach will be keen to beat the Corsicans and ensure that the club of the Principality keep pressure on the three sides ahead of them in the French table.

“It’s always the next match which is the next important,” Jardim began, speaking to the official Monaco website, looking ahead to the fixture against Bastia, “I’ve said it before and I will always say it.

“We need to have a good match on Friday to build confidence before Arsenal.”
