In the week where Chelsea’s players were criticised for hounding the referee to dismiss Paris Saint-Germain striker Zlatan Imbrahimovic, and Barcelona’s maestro Lionel Messi nearly knocked down an army of fans with his car, a footballer in the Jordan AFC Cup has shown that not all players are bad.

In scenes reminiscent of Paolo Di Canio’s infamous act of sportsmanship back in 2000, where he caught a cross with his hands as Everton’s Paul Gerrard lay injured on the pitch, Al Wihdat’s Mahmoud Za’tara has incredibly kicked the ball out of play whilst through on goal, to allow an opponent to get treatment.
