Arsenal keep tabs on Newcastle contract rebel ahead of summer bid

Arsenal have been linked with a summer bid to sign Newcastle United youngster Rolando Aarons after the winger postponed contract talks with the club, according to the Metro.

The 19-year-old wide-man has had an impressive season for the Magpies this season, impressing in occasional outings for the first-team, and it is now thought that the Gunners are considering a move for hi in the next transfer window.

Aarons looks a pacey attacker with an eye for goal who could have a bright future in the game, and Arsenal are known for their fondness in snapping up the best young talent in England and abroad.

Arsene Wenger has a keen eye for up-and-coming players, signing the likes of Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Aaron Ramsey and other first-teamers when they were still teenagers, with them all going on to become regulars in the side.

Aarons could be next if he does not renew his deal at St James’ Park, with just one year to go on his deal after the end of this campaign.
