The world-class forward line of Lionel Messi, Neymar and Luis Suarez are closing in on a century of goals between them for Barcelona this season and if that number is surpassed they will statistically become the club’s greatest ever strike-force, Mail Online reports.

93 goals have been scored between the trio this campaign, which is a remarkable feat for two reasons, one being that this is the first time they have all played together and to strike up such a good understanding in a short time of space should not be underestimated.

The other being that Suarez missed the first three months of the season due to suspension but has still managed to contribute 19 goals to Neymar’s 28 and Messi’s 46 and should they reach a century of goals it will equal the record of a previous star-studded forward line at the Camp Nou.

In the 2008-09 season Messi was joined alongside Samuel Eto’o and former Arsenal striker Thierry Henry and they notched exactly 100 goals to help the Catalan giants win the La Liga title, Champions League and Copa Del Rey.

The current crop require seven goals before the end of the campaign and given the rate that they are going at, it is difficult to see them not breaking the record and match the achievements set six years ago.
