Manchester City have been gifted the lead at the Etihad, with Aston Villa shot-stopper Brad Guzan practically passing the ball to Sergio Aguero for a tap in.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side have struggled for form recently, while the Villains have looked a rejuvenated side under new boss Tim Sherwood. The visitors will have a mountain to climb after Guzan’s mistake though, after finding themselves a goal down with just three minutes on the clock.
The American keeper looked to have things under control, with a simple back pass ready to be cleared.
He made a real mess of the clearance however, scuffing it just a few yards in front of him – the ball falling perfectly at the feet of Aguero.
City’s top scorer had an open goal in front of him, and was never going to miss. He tapped it into the net, Guzan hanging his head in shame and looking like he wanted the ground to swallow him whole.
Despite being potential relegation candidates, you wouldn’t put it past Villa to overturn the deficit in their current form. It won’t be easy though, and they will certainly have to avoid any further mistakes.
