Frank de Boer has done a fine job at the iconic Dutch club but sooner or later he is likely to accept a challenge elsewhere in Europe. He has 12 months left on his deal in Amsterdam but may depart this summer if he receives a good enough offer.

Rodgers’ style of play suits Ajax down to the ground and he would arguably be afforded the time he requires to mould a team. Steve McClaren rebuilt his reputation in the Eredivisie, perhaps Rodgers can do the same.
