White Hart Lane side desperate to land Saints midfielder.
Tottenham will offer Southampton one of two players in a part exchange deal for long term target Morgan Schneiderlin according to the London Evening Standard.
Mauricio Pochettino is seemingly desperate to reunite with his former St Mary’s charge and having unsuccessfully attempted to land the French international last summer he is looking to get the deal done when the transfer window reopens.
If the south-coast side do consider offers for the midfield battler then they are after £20m+ and Pochettino will offer either Andros Townsend or Benjamin Stambouli to help keep the cost of such a deal down.
Ronald Koeman has done a great job in his debut season at Southampton but may still struggle to keep hold of Schneiderlin, who could feel the time is right for a high-profile move.
Schneiderlin saw a host of his team-mates leave Southampton last year, with the likes of Dejan Lovren, Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana, Luke Shaw and Calum Chambers all leaving for ‘bigger’ clubs.
