The north London outfit are keen to strengthen in the attacking midfield department for next season, with manager Mauricio Pochettino clearly identifying that as an area of weakness in his first-team squad.
The Argentine made a number of defensive signings last summer but failed to adequately strengthen his attack, though Thauvin could now be brought in after the struggles of players like Erik Lamela and Andros Townsend this season.
According to the Metro, Tottenham will beat the likes of Chelsea and Valencia to the 22-year-old’s signature, with Thauvin’s fine displays in Ligue 1 this season attracting plenty of interest.
The France Under-21 international has long been regarded as a top talent who could make it at a bigger club, and has produced the goods again this season with five goals from midfield for Marseille.
