Arsenal increasingly confident of signing Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech

Arsenal are reportedly growing confident that they can sign Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech this summer as he wants to leave Stamford Bridge to ensure he is first choice again.

The Czech Republic international has long been regarded as one of the finest players in the world in his position, but has been unfortunate to fall behind Thibaut Courtois in the pecking order in Jose Mourinho’s side this season.

Cech would no doubt make a fine signing for the Gunners as they look to improve on their options of David Ospina and Wojciech Szczesny in goal, and the Daily Mail suggests he is one of their top priority targets alongside Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin this summer.

It remains to be seen if Chelsea will be happy to let such a top class player move to a direct title rival, but it seems Arsenal are hopeful that they can bring the 32-year-old to the Emirates Stadium for next season.
