Manchester City stopper Joe Hart issues Premier League title warning to Chelsea

Manchester City goalkeeper Joe Hart has issued a warning to Premier League champions Chelsea – insisting that the Sky Blues will come back stronger next season.

While Manuel Pellegrini’s men will be pleased with all but securing a spot in the Champions League following victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon, they will have one envious eye on the Blues whose win over Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge clinched them the Premier League trophy.

However, Hart is already looking ahead to the 2015-16 season, and is confident that City will be back to their best and posing a serious threat to the champions of England.

“Congrats to Chelsea on winning the title – it is well deserved,” the Three Lions international told BBC Sport.

“To lead from the front and stay there – we’ve done that before and it’s difficult – is impressive. But they know we will be back stronger next season.”

The Sky Blues closed in on Chelsea’s lead at the top of the table over the festive period, but a dismal second half of the season saw the side drift from their rivals.

City will finish the season empty-handed – and the club’s hierarchy certainly won’t accept another underachieving again next term.
