The Brazilian forward is something of a late bloomer, but is enjoying a fine season.

He made his Italy debut earlier in the campaign—and featured in an international friendly against England—and has been in fine fettle in Serie A.

In 28 starts, he has scored nine goals and contributed four assists as Samp have risen to sixth in the table, remaining in the hunt for a Europa League place.

Palace are believed to be keen on the forward as they look to strengthen their offensive options this summer, and are willing to meet president Massimo Ferrero’s asking price—believed to be approximately €8 million.

The striker is under contract at the club until 2017, and will play no further part in this campaign after picking up an injury in a recent Serie A fixture.

He was replaced at half time of Samp’s 4-2 away defeat to Napoli.
