The Uruguayan international has been strongly linked with a move to Manchester United this summer after becoming unsettled at PSG after a difficult couple of seasons of playing second fiddle to star front-man Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
However, according to The Sun, United may not be favourites to land the former Napoli star, with the player’s representative, Luis Cavani, revealing that his client would be ready to talk to Juventus after the end of the season, also describing the Serie A giants as the best club in Italy.
“Juventus are a huge club, the best in Italy,” Cavani said.
“We haven’t spoken to them yet, as we are waiting for PSG’s season to end, then we’ll be ready to meet and talk to the Juventus directors.
“Manchester United? No, we haven’t had any contact with them.”
Still, as there has been no concrete negotiation with Juve as of yet, there may still be a chance for the Red Devils to nip in and win the race for Cavani’s signature as manager Louis van Gaal looks to continue strengthening his squad for a stronger title challenge next season.
