In-form Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla has urged manager Arsene Wenger to splash the cash this summer and turn the side into Premier and Champions League contenders for next season.

The Gunners emerged as surprise, albeit unrealistic, challengers to Chelsea following a brilliant run of form since the turn of the year but were unable to prevent the Blues from being crowned Champions last weekend, meaning it’s now 11 years since the Gunners last tasted Premier league success.
They were knocked out of Europe by AS Monaco on the away goals rule as they were made to pay for taking the Ligue 1 side too lightly in the first leg, and now haven’t progressed past the first knockout stage since 2010.
But Cazorla remains confident that Arsenal can win both competitions next season provided they add to what is already a promising squad at the Emirates:
“I think we’ll sign new players and the team will be very strong and of course we want to win the Premier League and the Champions League.” The Spanish playmaker told ArsenalFanTv (via the Metro)
“I think if we play how we’ve been playing in the last ten games then we have a great opportunity.” he added.
Following a 3-1 win against relegation threatened Hull City on Monday night, the Gunners have all but secured a place in the top four and can now look to end the season on a high by retaining the FA Cup when they face Aston Villa in the final at Wembley on May 30.
