Liverpool transfer target Yannick Bolasie delivered a fine first-half performance for Crystal Palace at Anfield and reminded spectators why he has been linked to the Premier League giants.
Indeed, it was the Congolese forward who forced the opening which gave Palace a way back into the match just before the hour mark.
Bolasie, demonstrating the marvellous marriage of strength and speed that has made him one of the more sought-after players in the Premier League, refused to give up the chase when a cause was seemingly lost.
Despite seeing Emre Can take control of long ball forward by Palace, Bolasie harried the Germany U21 international and eventually forced him into an error as the ex-Bayern Munich man brought down the Leopards star.
Jason Puncheon stepped up and duly hammered the resulting free kick past the despairing gloves of Simon Mignolet. Adam Lallana had previously opened the scoring for Liverpool.
According to the Metro, Brendan Rodgers is keen to bring the forward to Anfield, with a part-exchange deal which would see Rickie Lambert move in the opposite direction being considered by the club.
