His representative Jonathan Barnett apparently took a tough stance in the talks, telling Perez that he needs to make a decision on his client’s future or they will start talking to other clubs. However, Los Blancos have played down the meeting as an analysis of Bale’s season, though this is doubtful as Barnett only travels to Madrid to talk about important issues.

Despite helping the Galacticos to the Copa del Rey and the Champions League last season, this time round the 25-year-old has become a scapegoat for their trophyless campaign. He has 17 goals and 12 assists in 48 matches for the La Liga giants, but this doesn’t seem to be enough to please the supporters.

The Red Devils are interested in the former Tottenham man’s signature as they look to challenge for the Premier League title next season. Having already signed Memphis Depay from PSV Eindhoven they have shown their intention to strengthen already.
