The Spanish tactician looks set to see out his contract at the Allianz Arena, having joined Bayern at the start of last season after taking a year out of the game.

Guardiola first made a name for himself at Barcelona, winning the treble in his first season in charge and going on to enjoy even more success with further La Liga title wins and another Champions League triumph in 2011.

Things have not gone quite as smoothly in Germany so far, but the 44-year-old remains one of the most highly regarded coaches in the game today, and would represent a huge coup for any Premier League club.

According to the Metro, City look the favourites to land Guardiola when he leaves Bayern, as he has supposedly given his word that he has his eye on the Etihad Stadium post.
