With the teams being the Reds’ biggest rivals, this is especially embarrassing. The former Anfield ace was forced to do this as he wanted to leave the studio early to go to his child’s sport’s day during Colin Murray’s Thursday radio show. Murphy clearly didn’t enjoy the situation, mentioning that he ‘felt sick’ at one point.

Perhaps fans of the Merseyside team will let off their former star though, with him have scored a hat trick at Old Trafford and a goal at Goodison Park during his time with the club. This was during five seasons at Anfield, in which he scored 44 goals in 246 appearances and played well enough to make his England debut in 2001. He went on to play nine times for his country.

Luckily the Daily Mirror has a video of the Manchester United themed part. Is this acceptable Liverpool fans?
