On Monday, Calcio Mercato Web ‘exclusively’ revealed that the Blues had made contact with the Parc des Princes forward, as his future in Paris is uncertain.

The Italian news outlet claimed that AC Milan are desperate to see their former striker return to the San Siro, but Jose Mourinho will attempt to lure Ibrahimovic to London.

The Express now cite further reports from Italy that the Premier League champions are considering tabling an offer for the former Barcelona attacker, and have held discussions with the 33-year-old on whether he would be open to a transfer.

Ibrahimovic has played in Serie A, La Liga and Ligue 1 throughout his illustrious career, and the Premier League is the only noticeable top flight missing from his CV – which could be key in Mourinho’s attempts to get him to put to pen to paper on a deal with Chelsea.

What’s more, at 33-years-old, the Sweden international may only have one more chance at a big-money move and, having already worked with the Portuguese manager at Inter Milan, could be the ideal transfer.
