Man City will push to sign Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba this summer with the Sun claiming the Etihad Stadium side are ready to break the British transfer record to sign the Frenchman.

The 22 year old left City’s local rivals Man United in 2012 and has matured into one of the most talented youngsters in the game.

Having surrendered their Premier League title to Chelsea in meek fashion it’s clear Man City are ready to spend big in order to once again challenge for top honours.

City will offer £60m for Pogba, topping Man United’s £59.7m record purchase of winger Angel di Maria last summer, and Manuel Pellegrini may well see the midfield powerhouse as a possible long term replacement for veteran Yaya Toure.

Pogba had made 129 appearances for Juventus over the course of the pas three seasons, helping the Turin side to three successive Serie A titles and played a key role in the club’s run to then Champions League final this term.
