Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho is pushing on with moves to bring in two new additions to give his Stamford Bridge squad further strength in depth.

The Daily Star claims that Barcelona midfielder Alex Song has ‘decided’ to join the Blues after a successful loan spell at West Ham helped to act as a shop-window for the Cameroon international.

Mourinho appears keen to bring in a strong tackling midfielder to act as a back-up for Nemanja Matic and this may well leave John Obi Mikel considering his future at the club.

Radamel Falcao proved woefully ineffective during his loan spell at Man United, the Colombian scoring just four Premier League goals, though this hasn’t stopped Chelsea pushing to bring in the 29 year old on a temporary deal.

This source suggests both deals are close to completion and if so then Chelsea’s Premier League title contenders may have a real fight on their hands to prevent Mourinho securing another top tier trophy in 2015/16,
