Championship teenager on his way to Anfield.
Liverpool look set to complete the signing of Championship starlet Joe Gomez with the Daily Mail claiming a deal would be sealed by Friday.
The 18-year-old impressed after breaking through into the Championship side’s first-team set-up in 2014/15, making 24 appearances and winning caps at England Under 19 level.
The talented centre-back has become a much sought after talent with the likes of Arsenal and Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund also said to be interested.
It appears that Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers will be handed a far reduced transfer budget this summer, having spent upwards of £100m on last summer, with the club having brought in free agents James Milner and Danny Ings from Man City and Burnley thus far.
That transfer budget may be boosted by the possible sale of Raheem Sterling, with the contract rebel being the subject of a second Man City bid which would involve an initial payment of £35.5m for the England man, with the possibility of ‘add-ons’ taking the amount to £40m.
