The 27-year-old is currently sidelined with a collarbone injury and spent last season on loan at Real Madrid, where he managed to net seven La Liga goals despite barely starting, and is seemingly not part of Louis van Gaal’s first team plans.

The Mexican international may well be ready to quit Man United but another loan deal may not be what the Old Trafford man is looking for.

AS Monaco opted to loan Radamel Falcao to Chelsea and with Bulgarian veteran Dimitar Berbatov having left the principality club there is every need for the Ligue 1 side to bring in another goal-scoring option.

A move to AS Monaco would at least afford Chicharito a chance of regular first team action as well as offering the Man United man Champions League football.
