BREAKING: Huge blow for Manchester United’s transfer plans as Hugo Lloris suffers broken wrist

Posted by

Tottenham have confirmed Hugo Lloris has suffered a major injury and is a doubt for the start of the 2015-16 Barclays Premier League season, BBC Sport reports.

The Frenchman has suffered a broken wrist and will almost certainly miss the club’s entire pre-season program and will also raise the question as to if he’s played his last game for the White Hart Lane outfit.

Spurs begin the new campaign with a trip to Old Trafford on August 8 where they will face the club that has been heavily linked with a move for their number one goalkeeper all summer.

Manchester United have reportedly placed Lloris as their top transfer target should David De Gea complete a move to La Liga giants Real Madrid at some point during the summer [via Mirror Sport].

Lloris signed a new five year deal with the North London outfit just last summer, but has given many hints since the end of last season that he is desperate to play in the Champions League [via Mail Sport] and that has fuelled speculation that he is angling for a move to the Red Devils.

However, with this setback it doesn’t appear he will be turning out for either club when the season starts next month.
