The Daily Mail claim Salah has agreed to join AS Roma and that his loan spell could cost £1.4m with a permanent buy-out fee of £16m placed on the Stamford Bridge bit-part player.

Jose Mourinho has made a habit of banking big sums from the sale of players who are not regulars in his Chelsea starting line-up with the sales of Kevin de Bruyne, which netted the West London side £16m (via Sky Sports), Romelu Lukaku’s move to Everton bringing in a big £28m (via BBC Sport) and Andre Schurrle’s move back to Germany leading to a healthy £22m windfall (via BBC Sport), being prime examples of this.

Chelsea paid £11m to sign Mohamed Salah back in January 2014 (via BBC Sport) and the speedy attacker has made just six domestic league starts for the Premier League title holders.
