Manchester United CLEAR to sign £34.9m assist KING

Manchester United are clear to sign Wolfsburg star Kevin De Bruyne as the club are ready to listen to offers for their player, reports the Metro.

The 24-year-old is rated at £34.9 million after his brilliant season with the German side. He managed 16 goals and 27 assists in all competitions, making Chelsea’s decision to sell him in January 2014 look like a major mistake. Now the Stamford Bridge outfit’s Premier League rivals could make it worse by bringing the Belgium international back to face them.

United boss Louis van Gaal is in need of a creative midfielder after watching his team find packed defences hard to unlock in the last campaign. De Bruyne certainly has the ability to change this, and could fit well with recent signings Morgan Schneiderlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger. The duo will boost their midfield defensively, allowing their more creative teammates to play with freedom.

Manchester City are also interested in the Belgian, but with David Silva and Samir Nasri already at the Etihad Stadium they don’t seem to need the player as badly. Although, judging from his stats, De Bruyne may actually be an improvement on the pair.
