Neymar scores twice as Brazil destroy United States in friendly rout

Brazil thrashed the United States in a friendly game in Massachusetts on Tuesday night.

They ran out comfortable 4-1 winners, teaching the United States a humiliating lesson in the process.

A second half Neymar brace, along with a first half goal from Hulk and a fourth from Rafinha sealed the win, with the Selecao rarely needing to get out of first gear.

Only a late 91st minute Daniel Williams goal added the merest hint of respectability to the score for the hosts.

It was the USA’s final warm up game ahead of their vital CONCACAF Confederations Cup Playoff tie against Mexico on October 9th. On the evidence of this display the Gold Cup holders will go into that game as heavy favourites.

In the aftermath of the game, fans took to social media in force to call for the boss’s head. Klinsmann’s job has been under threat for twelve months, and a negative result against their biggest rivals next month could seal his fate.
