Unless you’ve been living under a rock recently, you’ll have no doubt been aware that Donald Trump has been getting into all kinds of trouble for his comments about Mexicans ahead of the US Presidential elections next year.
Now Mexican television channel TV Azteca has turned his comments into one of the most epic football TV adverts in recent times.
After El Tri won this summer’s Gold Cup and the States won the 2013 edition, Mexico face their old enemies in a Confederations Cup playoff next month. The winner will play in the 2017 tournament.
This is the advert that was screened across the country during last night’s 2-2 draw with Argentina:
It features Giovani dos Santos and Cuauhtemoc Blanco, both of whom are amongst the best players the MLS has ever seen, as well as a number of clips from Mexico’s most recent wins over the US.
It’s believed that a loss next month could cost Jurgen Klinsmann his job as US manager.
