Arsenal chase deal to sign ‘Serbian Lionel Messi’ Andrija Zivkovic

Arsenal are said to be aggressively pursuing a deal to sign Serbian starlet Andrija Zivkovic, according to Spanish publication AS.

The Gunners are said to have been tracking the 19-year-old for some time after his performances earned him comparisons to Barcelona legend Lionel Messi.

Villarreal, Valencia and Tottenham Hotspur are all being credited with an interest in his signature, however, Atletico Madrid are believed to be the biggest rivals.

The AS report claims that Diego Simeone’s men have already made contact with Zivkovic’s representatives.

This means that Arsenal will need to move quickly as Zivkovic’s contract with Partizan Belgrade ends in the summer, and he will be able to negotiate his next move in the new year.

Since making his debut in 2013, Zivkovic has gone on to make 58 appearances for Partizan, scoring 15 goals in the process. He has also made three appearances for the Serbian national team, scoring once.
