Manchester City could be set to make a stunning move to poach Alexis Sanchez away from Arsenal after being told by potential new boss Pep Guardiola, according to the Metro.

The Bayern coach is expected to take over at The Etihad over the summer, and judging by the reports it seems as though he is already making plans for his arrival.

Guardiola initially brought the Chilean international to Barcelona when he was in charge there, and is now seemingly keen on reuniting with him at City.

Spanish giants Real Madrid are also believed to be looking into the possibility of signing the 26-year-old, but Arsenal are known to be looking to keep him at the club and will attempt to resist any offers that might come their way.

City have previously raided Arsenal for the likes of Emmanuel Adebayor, Kolo Toure, Samir Nasri, Bacary Sagna and Gael Clichy, who have all made the move north in recent years.
