Liverpool eye Swiss wonderkid targeted by Arsenal & Man United

FC Basel forward Breel Embolo has made quite a name for himself this season. With eight goals in just over 20 appearances between the Swiss Super League, Champions League and Europa League, Embolo has attracted the attention of many top teams across Europe, including several in the Premier League. As the transfer window approaches, the latest contender for the 18-year-old striker’s signature appears to be Liverpool.

According to the Metro, Liverpool have expressed interest in a transfer move for the Swiss starlet and are “weighing up a move” for the young striker. Among other teams interested in the Basel striker are Manchester United and Arsenal.

Early this year, Embolo was named the Swiss Football League’s ‘Best Youngster of 2014’ after a dominant 2014-15 campaign that culminated in the Swiss Super League and Swiss Super Cup titles.

This past summer, Manchester United broke the teenage-transfer record to acquire Monaco striker Anthony Martial in a move that paid immediate dividends for the Red Devils. Martial, along with Liverpool midfielder Jordon Ibe and Arsenal back Hector Bellerin, have all been nominated for the prestigious Golden Boy award.
