Manchester United star gives green light to January transfer to Serie A giants

Manchester United star Marouane Fellaini has reportedly given the go-ahead to the club to push through a loan move to AC Milan.

The Belgian international was the source of significant speculation on Monday, with suggestions that the Rossoneri had seen a loan bid rejected by the Premier League side.

However, according to Corriere della Sera, as reported by Football Italia, the 28-year-old has agreed to move to the San Siro and now it remains to be seen whether or not the two clubs can reach an agreement over the terms of the deal.

The former Everton star was signed by boss David Moyes after the tactician made the move from Goodison Park to Manchester in 2013, but has failed to establish himself in the first team under Louis van Gaal.

While the Dutchman has brought in the likes of Morgan Schneiderlin and Bastian Schweinsteiger to provide more competition, Fellaini has seen his opportunities limited as he has mainly been deployed due to injuries elsewhere while his versatility has arguably saved him thus far.

As a result, the combative midfielder may welcome the chance to start afresh in Italy, with Milan requiring options in midfield in their bid to close the gap on their rivals at the top of the Serie A table.
