Wonderkid Arsenal & Liverpool transfer target receives contract offer

Leicester City defender Ben Chilwell has been offered a new contract offer from the club, in light of transfer rumours linking him with a move away from the King Power Stadium.

According to the Telegraph, the Foxes are keen to tie the youngster down to a new deal and, after realising that he makes only £800 per week, have decided to offer the wonderkid defender a new deal.

There has been no shortage of interest in the 19-year-old in recent months, with the Telegraph naming heavyweight trio Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Liverpool as suitors.

The broadsheet reported that the Gunners had had a £3.5 million offer rejected by the Foxes during the summer, while the Yorkshire Post noted in December that Arsenal were still tracking the player despite being rebuffed in the summer.

Arsene Wenger sent scouts to watch the player at Huddersfield Town—where he had been on loan—with the Metro noting that Wenger saw the wonderkid as an ideal solution to some of his perceived weaknesses in the squad.

The Yorkshire Post also suggested that Newcastle United were keen on signing the highly rated left-back.
