Chelsea striker Diego Costa could miss Arsenal clash with bruised tibia

Diego Costa could be a doubt for Chelsea’s upcoming trip to Arsenal after suffering a bruised tibia during his side’s 3-3 draw with Everton this weekend, the Daily Mirror reports.

The Spanish international was sent for scans following the full time whistle, and the Press Association Sport believe that there is no fracture to his shin, just heavy bruising.

However, it is thought to be too soon to assess when he will be ready for first team duty again and he may be ruled out of the upcoming meeting with the Gunners at the weekend.

Costa was back at the club’s Cobham training base for treatment despite the squad being given two days off by manager Guus Hiddink.

The news will come as a huge blow to the club, as the 27-year-old has rediscovered his form since Jose Mourinho’s sacking to find the net five times in his previous five games.
