Manchester United forward Anthony Martial has posted a cryptic Instagram post which has prompted one tabloid to speculate that the Red Devils could be dipping into the transfer market imminently.
The French striker, writing in the aftermath of United’s 1-0 victory over Liverpool on Sunday, had the following to say in a post on his @AnthonyMartial Instagram handle.
“A fantastic win today. Thanks for all your support!” the Frenchman began. “A surprise will come very soon.”
The Daily Star have leapt upon the wonderkid’s words and have speculated that Martial is alluding to a new signing on the way at Old Trafford.
The tabloid admit, however, that he could just as easily be suggesting that he’s on the brink of receiving a new contract…although he could similarly be about to have a new haircut or…even more surprisingly…actually score a goal.
The Instagram post appears to have been removed which, doubtless, will send the transfer mill into even more of a spin.
Although quite why United have left the PR surrounding the club’s latest transfer dealings down to one of their newest recruits is really anyone’s guess…
