Oscar hat-trick video v MK Dons: Loftus-Cheek supplies one but Brazilian needs no help for special third

Oscar started brightly at Chelsea before losing his place

Chelsea’s FA Cup trip to MK Dons this afternoon is proving to be no more testing than a training-ground exercise, and Oscar is the player who is profiting from open season in the home defence.

The Brazilian scored a first-half hat-trick to give the Blues a 3-1 lead at the break of the fourth-round tie, with Darren Potter earlier scoring the Dons an equaliser with a deflected long-range shot.

Diego Costa had supplied Oscar with Chelsea’s 15th-minute opener, and it was Ruben Loftus-Cheek, with a lovely through ball, who provided the South American with a well-taken second on 32 minutes.

The 24-year-old didn’t need any help to complete his treble just before the break. He took advantage of the stand-offish MK Dons defending to drift in from the left and finishing expertly inside the post.

Oscar’s first Chelsea hat-trick means that he now has eight goals for the season. Such has been the awful standard of the opposition defending that he will surely never score an easier hat-trick in his life!

Half-time: MK Dons 1-3 Chelsea
