Man United star David de Gea expected to be fit for Arsenal test

Manchester United have been handed a huge boost ahead of their upcoming meeting with Arsenal after scans showed that David de Gea has suffered no significant damage to his knee, the Daily Mail reports.

The Spanish international was forced to pull out of United’s shock 2-1 Europa League defeat to FC Midtjylland on Thursday after he went down during the warm up.

It had been feared that he would be forced to take a lengthy spell on the sidelines, which would have been disastrous for Louis van Gaal as the 23-year-old has been one of the club’s better performers in an otherwise dull campaign.

However, the Mail report is giving fans the opportunity to rejoice as scans confirmed that the problem is not as bad as first feared and he should be available in time for next weekend’s clash with Arsenal.
