Tottenham to offer Chelsea & Manchester United target a bumper contract

Tottenham Hotspur are planning to offer Mauricio Pochettino a new contract in order to fend off interest from Manchester United and Chelsea.

While both Premier League heavyweights currently have coaches, the pair are likely to be on the look out for new men in the summer, with Louis van Gaal tipped for the exit door following a miserable spell in charge at Old Trafford, and Guus Hiddink only employed by the Blues in an interim rule.

Pochettino has been linked to both clubs, and it’s easy to see why; the former Southampton boss has made Spurs viable title contenders, employing an attractive and effective style of football and overseeing the development of the likes of Eric Dier, Dele Alli and Harry Kane.

In order to ward off the interest of both United and Chelsea, Spurs are understood to be planning to offer him a new deal, according to the Mirror.

The tabloid report that Spurs are keen to offer the coach an improvement on his current deal, which currently runs until 2019.
