West Ham United ace Dimitri Payet was the star of the show on Sunday as he helped his side to a 5-1 win over Blackburn Rovers at Ewood Park in their fifth round FA Cup clash.
The French playmaker scored this wonderful free kick in the first half as the visitors hit back having fallen behind, and it turned out be an ill-tempered game between the two sides.
While Victor Moses and Emmanuel Emenike got themselves on the scoresheet too to secure a comfortable victory, Cheikhou Kouyate and Chris Taylor both saw red as the former will now face a suspension in this year’s competition.
Nevertheless, Slaven Bilic will be pleased with what he saw from his players as they cruised through to the quarter-finals and will fancy their chances of going deeper given the game-winners and depth at his disposal.
While the Hammers produced some real quality play during the course of the game, it wasn’t as impressive as this solo effort from Payet. The former Marseille star has made himself a hero with the West Ham faithful already, and with goals such as this, he will only further endear himself to them as Bilic’s men continue to enjoy an impressive season.
