Sergio Aguero in line for ‘contract for life’ at Manchester City

Manchester City are said to be confident that star striker Sergio Aguero will commit his future to the club by signing a new contract that will keep him there until the end of his career, The Sun reports.

The club, who have already appointed Pep Guardiola as their new manager from next season, are hoping that the Argentine international will agree to the new terms in order to fend off interest from Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid.

And the club even want him to finish his career at the Etihad.

“The club have a fantastic relationship with Sergio and they are confident he’s extremely happy at City,” a source at the club said.

“The personal relationships formed between key people at the club and Kun and his family are such that the club are very comfortable that no one can tempt him away.

“He is a vital player for the club and will be key in the future under Pep Guardiola.”

Aguero penned a new contract with the club only 18 months ago, which runs until 2019, but City chiefs are hoping this new deal will send a clear ‘hands off’ warning to any potential suitors.
