Arsenal & Man United target Ibrahimovic confirms Premier League interest

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has long been linked with a move to the Premier League, and the player himself has now confirmed the interest shown in him, as reported by the Daily Star.

As the report suggests, his contract with Paris Saint-Germain is set to expire at the end of the season. He’s still a top quality striker despite his advanced years though, so it’s understandable that Arsenal, Manchester United, and Chelsea (via the Star) are all chasing his signature.

The 34-year-old suggested that there had already been contact from any number of Premier League clubs, talking up the English top flight and potentially a summer transfer.

“Yes, there is interest from the Premier League, I can confirm that,” he said.

“The Premier League is the league in the world all people and fans speak about.

“A lot of things have to feel fine when I’m going to take a decision this summer.”

The Swedish striker is unquestionably still one of the game’s top goalscorers, even if he doesn’t have long left at the highest level. He would certainly add something to any Premier League team – with Arsenal and Man United in particular lacking a truly clinical striker at the moment.

Any team that signs him will be well aware of the baggage he comes with too, as the man is pretty much a walking, talking ego. He needs to be the big fish wherever he goes, and with some big names at all three Premier League sides there could be a clash of personalities.

He’d also no doubt demand a massive wage packet, which could be a problem for Arsenal – not so much for United or Chelsea.

They’ll be weighing up whether the goals and quality he’d bring to their respective sides are worth the risk of the trouble he could potentially cause, but the answer for all three should really be yes.
