German giants make tempting offer to Arsenal for star forward

One of the main reasons Arsenal are in a distant third on the table as opposed to challenging Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur is that they haven’t been getting goals out of their most important players, particularly from star forward Olivier Giroud. The French striker has three assists but no goals in the Premier League since January and the team has struggled mightily against the likes of Crystal Palace and Sunderland as a result. Now the Gunners could be tempted to move Giroud by a high-paying German outfit.

According to the Metro via Foot Mercato, the 29-year-old has been targeted by Bundesliga giants VfL Wolfsburg and has an offer of over £100,000-a-week on the table.

In 51 games in all competitions for Arsenal this season, Girioud has 20 total goals and five assists. He has started24 out of 36 appearances for the Gunners this season.

Giroud may not be as tempted by Wolfsburg over the fact that they will not have a spot in the Champions League or even Europa League next year.

Wolfsburg have a vacancy up front after releasing Nicklas Bendtner last week.
