Cheikou Kouyate wants to stay at the West Ham despite interest from rival Premier League sides according to his agent Saffet Balkan.

Balkan told Emre Sarigul that Kouyate is happy at West Ham after signing a long-term contract extension at the end of last season.

“Kouyate only recently signed a new deal with West Ham, there have been enquiries from other Premier League sides but we are committed to the club and he is happy here,” Balkan said.

The East London based outfit have been quick to reject offers for Kouyate since joining the club in 2014.

West Ham chairman David Sullivan revealed in March that he had a conversation with Tottenham regarding a £15 million offer for Kouyate.

The Hammers chairman told Spurs that he would only accept a swap with England international striker Harry Kane for the powerful midfielder.

Sullivan said: “Spurs came on for Kouyate. They said: ‘What would you take for Kouyate?’

“We said we’d take Harry Kane. Silence on the other end of the line.”

Kouyate joined the Hammers from Anderlecht and has gone onto establish himself a key member of the West Ham midfielder.

The 26-year-old has nine goals and seven assists in 74 appearances for West Ham and recently extended his contract with the club until 2021.
