Manchester United in advanced talks over £80m deal to re-sign Paul Pogba

Manchester United are said to be closing in on an £80m deal to re-sign Paul Pogba from Juventus.

The Red Devils inexplicably allowed the French midfielder to leave on a free transfer in 2012 and he has since developed into one of football’s hottest properties. What an expensive mistake that could be!

According to the Daily Star, United are in advanced talks over bringing Pogba back to Old Trafford and could seal the deal when Euro 2016 has concluded. Pogba’s France are currently in the quarter-finals.

The £80m transfer fee quoted would make the 23-year-old the second most costly player in history – behind only Gareth Bale who cost Real Madrid £86m when he arrived from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013.

The Daily Star reports that big-spending Madrid were keen on Pogba too, but the powerhouse midfielder favours a return to Manchester and the chance to work with new manager Jose Mourinho.

Pogba could be playing alongside Zlatan Ibrahimovic at United next season. The Swedish striker confirmed today when everybody already suspected – that he is joining the Red Devils this summer.
