Manchester City have officially unveiled Pep Guardiola as their new coach at a special weekend event at the club’s academy.

The Spaniard takes over from Manuel Pellegrini ahead of next season, and while the club has already been busy this summer putting his plans in place, this is the first time fans have had a chance to see him.

The club organised a weekend-long event to celebrate the arrival of the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss, while they also revealed a new club badge and kit in what is an exciting and fresh start.

Meanwhile, as for Guardiola himself, he took part in a Q&A with supporters on Sunday afternoon to share his thoughts on the club and his vision for its future.

It promises to be a hugely competitive year in the Premier League next season, with the 45-year-old joined by the likes of Jose Mourinho, Antonio Conte, Jurgen Klopp and Arsene Wenger at the top of the table, along with defending champions Leicester City and Tottenham.

Whether he is able to bring instant success to the Etihad remains to be seen, but he will certainly be under pressure to deliver with the expectations that follow him around.

Having already signed Ilkay Gundogan and Nolito, more new faces are expected at the club in the coming weeks, although the weekend was about welcoming Guardiola and allowing him to settle in and look forward to a successful new partnership with City.
