Barcelona & Chelsea stars set to play in Turkey

Sameul Eto’o’s charity game set to be played on 16 July in Antalya will go ahead as planned despite rumours that it could be cancelled due to safety concerns following the recent terrorist attack in Istanbul.

Turkish state radio and television broadcaster TRT have confirmed that the event will not be cancelled and revealed that Lionel Messi, Neymar, Luis Suarez, Maradona, Eden Hazard, Totti, Michael Essien, Xavi, JayJay Okocha, Pierre Emerick, Aubameyang, Andres Iniesta and Arda Turan will all be present.

TRT published the following statement on their official website: “The Eto’o Charity All Star vs Turkish Stars charity game involving Messi, Neymar, Suarez, Maradona, Eden Hazard, Totti, Michael Essien, Xavi, JayJay Okocha, Pierre Emerick, Aubameyang, Iniesta and Arda Turan will go ahead at the Antalya Arena on 16 July. The game will not be cancelled it will go ahead.”

Eto’o founded the “Fundacion Privada Samuel Eto’o” charitable foundation in 2006 and it will become 10 years old next week.

The former Barcelona star will organise a charity game involving his all star team versus a Turkish all star side.

Eto’o’s current football club Antalyaspor are also involved in organising the event and have allowed for the match to be played at the Antalya Arena stadium.
