Juventus set aside £17m for star Chelsea midfielder

Serie A Champions Juventus have set their sights on Chelsea star defensive midfielder Nemanja Matic according to The Mirror.

The report states that Juve are prepared to part company with £17 million in order to get their hands on the Serbian international.

The Mirror goes onto say that Chelsea may be willing to offload Matic if they can secure the transfers of Leicester City’s N’Golo Kante and the Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan.

However, the daily tabloid paper claims that Roma have offered Nainggolan a lucrative contract extension in order to fend off interest from Chelsea. The Blues are understood to be willing to table £31 million to secure the combative midfielder this summer.

Matic joined Chelsea from Benfica in January 2015 for £21 million. The 27-year-old provided three assists and scored two goals in 43 appearances for Chelsea in all competitions last season. The former Benfica man also has 29 caps for the Serbian national team.
