England left it late to beat Slovakia 1-0 in their opening 2018 World Cup qualification game but regardless of the circumstances a win is a win at the end of the day.
The victory marked Sam Allardyce’s first win in his first game in charge of the England national team after replacing Roy Hodgson as head coach after Euro 2016.
The goal was also Adam Lallana’s first in an England jersey. The Liverpool star first made his debut for the Three Lions under former boss Roy Hodgson back in 2013 and now has 26 international caps.
