Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher had another pop at Mario Balotelli on Sunday, with the pair continuing their entertaining public war of words.
It all stems from the fact that Carragher was never a fan of the Reds signing the Italian forward, and believes that he’s very much overrated having failed to see him perform at Anfield.
He continued the exchange by suggesting that Nice had still ‘paid over the odds’ for Balotelli despite snapping him up on a free transfer on deadline day last week.
The former AC Milan and Inter star responded by labelling the former defender his ‘best hater’ in a special Twitter post, and Carragher evidently couldn’t help himself with another reply of his own when asked for his thoughts on the tweet, relating back to Balotelli’s desire to one day win the Ballon d’Or.

While they’re also probably non-Liverpool fans looking to have a dig at Carragher, unsurprisingly there were plenty of replies to the tweet with many picking out a key fact.
The 38-year-old didn’t win a Premier League title during his time as a player on Merseyside, while Balotelli has quite the collection of silverware over his career.
Granted he wasn’t always key to his respective teams in those runs, but with three Serie A titles, a Premier League title, a Champions League winners medal and many other domestic trophies to his name, it’s not bad for a player who has failed to reach his potential.
And it wasn’t something lost on certain supporters on Twitter…
