Euro 2016 finalists France kicked off their 2018 World Cup qualification campaign against Belarus.
There is no denying France have a talented squad but what may come as a surprise is how many Premier League players represent Les Blues.
The French national team that started against Belarus included seven Premier League players. Manchester United and Arsenal both have two representatives in Paul Pogba, Martial and Giroud, Koscielny, respectively.
Giroud was giving a place in the starting line-up against Belarus but has yet to feature for Arsenal this season. Koscielny meanwhile featured in the Gunners 3-1 win over Watford before the international break.
Crystal Palace goalkeeper Mandanda, Tottenham midfielder Sissoko and Chelsea star Kante were also all given the nod.
France starting line-up vs. Belarus: Mandanda; Sidibé, VARANE (C), Koscielny, Kurzawa; Kanté, Pogba; Sissoko, Griezmann, Martial; Giroud
Just four players in the starting French side do not currently play in the Premier League – Sidibe, Varane, Kurzawa and Griezmann.
West Ham star Dimitri Payet was also selected but starts on the bench due to lacking match fitness.
