Arsenal forward Alex Iwobi is making quite an impression not only in the Premier League but on the international stage.
Scoring two goals in a friendly between Nigeria and Plateau United, Iwobi, nephew of Premier League legend Jay Jay Okocha, took to Instagram to exclaim his delight at claiming the brace.
Iwobi’s two goals came on the back of a 71-minute performance in Arsenal’s late 1-0 win over Burnley on Sunday.
Aged 20, the sky is the limit for Iwobi. While Arsenal have their critics there are few clubs with a superior track record for developing players, and playing alongside Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil will enhance that.
Iwobi has a long season ahead but there is no reason why he cannot keep his place in Arsene Wenger’s starting eleven.
London lad Iwobi played at U16, U17 and U18 levels for England.
